The true story of two men who, on paper, have nothing in common-an aristocratic British writer of detective stories and the young American actor who becomes his unlikely protege. But their paths converge in a way no one could have predicted on a real-life transcontinental walk from New York to San Francisco. As the men slowly make their way across America over five months, not only do they manage to survive extreme physical hardships and an unpredictable climate, but they come to share insights into the power of art and the craft of writing as well as what it means to face one's fears and truly live. In 2003, Tilda Swinton was nominated for an Academy Award for her performance as Kath. "The Walk" won the 2000 Golden Globe Award for best foreign film. The Walk Video Game is a 2000 video game based on the movie. It was released for the Game Boy Color. It was developed by Argonaut Games and published by Rockstar Games.
